In Palmers Green, we were entrusted with the responsibility of designing a new warehouse to extend an existing supermarket. As structural engineers, our mandate involved crafting accurate structural drawings and undertaking comprehensive calculations, ensuring the durability and safety of the expansion. To sturdily underpin the upcoming steel edifice, we implemented new pad foundations in our design. Our primary challenge revolved around strategically minimising the number of columns, aiming to maximise the interior space. This design choice was pivotal to provide a spacious drive area for forklifts, ensuring seamless and efficient operations within the storage zone. Through our tailored solutions, we not only achieved structural soundness but also optimally utilised the warehouse’s functional potential in Palmers Green.
