In Haringey, we undertook an ambitious project to merge four distinct shops into a single, cohesive restaurant space. As structural engineers, our task was multi-faceted: we were entrusted with the creation of detailed structural drawings and the execution of vital calculations to bring this vision to life. One standout feature we developed was a striking canopy design, boasting a 10m clear opening, which added both functionality and aesthetic flair. A considerable challenge we faced was devising a plan to safely remove the primary load-bearing walls between the four shops. Through innovative engineering and a commitment to cost-effective solutions, we successfully designed and implemented a sturdy and economical structure that met the client’s specifications and ensured the restaurant’s long-term stability.
